| "Shattered Heart" |
73"H x 30"W x 12"D
Wood, Paint and Stainless Steel

This piece unfolded with various objects found in the studio. Most of
my sculptures are from scrap lumber found at construction sites, then cut and
sanded to form a piece of art. Some artists refer to this as recycling, but
for me, this is simply a way of
obtaining cost free, risk free material to allow my creative efforts the
freedom to be completely open to new ways of putting together my pieces of
sculpture.
“Shattered Heart” was finished in 2001, and that year was
awarded Honorable Mention in the Santa Clarita Artists' Association's Art
Classic. This piece stands five feet tall and combines a steel strip that
accents the abstract arrow piercing the heart. |
